Drama Featured in Trump’s Latest Meltdown on Twitter

With COVID-19 continuing to spread across the United States, affecting both humans and the economy, along with his sagging poll numbers, President Donald Trump had an events-free Mother’s Day, while posting a storm of tweets and sending somewhat like a public statement that any previous era would have considered as a national concern. Many people grow their twitter accounts from buying twitter followers.

After everything has been said and done, Trump’s tweets and retweets which are 126 posts in total, ended up as one most post-filled posting days that he has done in history. The total number of tweets only fell 16 short from the previous tweet meltdown record he has set in January when he was in an impeachment trial. And while the citizens of America have already become immune to Trump’s Twitter meltdown, the number of posts was notable. But what is more notable is its lack of quality.

Trump and His Twitter Meltdown

The U.S. president amplified several accounts that posted about the QAnon conspiracy theory– a theory saying that Democrats are being involved in a cult of pedophiles. In addition, Trump retweeted accounts that do not have avatars and only have a few followers, which he probably found somewhere in the dark corners of the internet. He also tried in a desperate way to divert the topic from coronavirus by trying to fix old conflicts with his perceived political foes as well as the media.

Trump’s Twitter Meltdown Continued Until the Morning of Monday.

In a series of tweets where the U.S. president showed his recklessness, he obliviously shared a post that he probably misread. The said tweet criticizes the Department of Justice of Attorney General Bill Barr was corrupt. The owner of the account who posted the said tweet said that the situation was perplexing. He even joked that his Twitter notifications were full of flying monkeys as well as many QAnons who are welcoming him into the twilight zone.

Trump has always been known for his unhinged behavior in social media whenever there is a crisis. The current COVID-19 pandemic is not an exception to this. With over three years of being the U.S. president, it is no longer a surprise when people see him tweeting bad tweets. Still, there are several tweets that have notable themes in his latest meltdown that deserve attention.

Trump Tried to Make His So-called “OBAMAGATE” A Trend

Trump planned to make a positive economic message as the center of his presidency. However, this reelection campaign came in ruins due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Trump is now working to change this topic by trying to demonize the former U.S. President Barack Obama. He claimed that the former president was the mastermind of the Russian investigation that caused him to almost lose his position as the president.

In reality, Trump has no one else to blame other than himself regarding the Russian investigation. In addition, the idea that the FBI tried to hand Hillary Clinton the 2016 election by releasing her emails to the public during the campaign’s closing weeks is an absurd thing.

However, Trump has no plans to let his narratives be hindered by facts. In fact, he even suggested that the Obama administration may have been planning to conduct an investigation. Starting Sunday until the late morning on Monday, the president tweeted seven posts where he mentioned “OBAMAGATE” and proclaimed it as something that “makes Watergate look small-time!“

All of these narratives’ root was leaked audio published by the publication Yahoo News. In the said audio, Obama was heard criticizing and saying that the way Trump handles the coronavirus pandemic is an absolutely chaotic disaster. The former president can also be heard in the leaked audio warning that the unusual move of Attorney General Barr of dropping the case against Michael Flynn, the National Security Adviser is a representation of how much at risk is our basic understanding about the rule of law. Coincidence or not, Trump’s Twitter meltdown proved all the points mentioned by Obama.

Trump Compared the Coronavirus to H1N1

The death toll of coronavirus in the U.S. increased past 80,000. In addition, the emerging new cases show that the pandemic is far from reaching a downward trajectory. However, Trump still tried hard to defend the way he handles the crisis by trying to throw the blame on somewhere else.

He even compared the way his administration handles the pandemic with the way Obama handled the 2009 H1N1 outbreak and ignored the fact that COVID-19 has already caused over 65,000 deaths compared to H1N1 in only a short span of time.

Without presenting any evidence, Trump insisted that he has been getting excellent marks as well as great credits with the way he handles the coronavirus pandemic. But in reality, recent polls, including the ones done by his own campaigns revealed that he was falling behind Joe Biden.

The US President Also Criticized the Media

Apart from the “OBAMAGATE” narrative, Trump also criticized the media. He replied to a segment called 60 Minutes, which is known to be critical of the administration’s move of cutting the funding for a COVID-19 researcher who has been partnering with Chinese researchers in testing possible treatments and vaccines for COVID-19. According to Trump, CBS has been doing every possible thing within its power to defend China as well as the horrible coronavirus pandemic that it brought to the USA and the whole world. He even ignored the fact that he defended China’s way of handling the pandemic as well.

Furthermore, Trump also tagged Ajit Pai, the chairman of FCC in one of his tweets where he demanded him to fire Chuck Todd, a Meet the Press host who mentioned that he was critical of Barr dropping the case against Flynn. He even suggested that the government will possibly take its action against NBC if it does not submit to his bidding.

If an event where a president would call out on a private company to fire an employee he does not like happened in any previous era, it might have caused a major scandal. However, in the Trump era, this is only one of the many ill-conceived public statements given on a normal morning.
